SVN53/PRN17 will be set healthy to users from approximately
2100Z on 11
Nov 05 to 2100Z on 13 Nov 05 for IIR-M on-orbit testing. The new
military signal will be broadcasted continuously for the 48-hour
period.
There should be no impact to users. Please contact the NAVCEN (Comm
703-313-5900) or the GPSOC (DSN 560-2541/Comm 719-567-2541) if
you
encounter problems.

About this course:
The need for simulators for the test and evaluation of GPS/GNSS
products has
been increasing with the growth of the GNSS market. In order to
be sure that
systems perform properly, testing is done throughout the
development and
manufacturing process. Duet to the widespread is of GPS/GNSS
signals in
various implementations and applications, this course will be of
interest to
both military and civil users. This course addresses the need
for test and
evaluation and gives examples of how to build a simulation
during the
process. The instructor addresses a variety of equipment
analysis and design
techniques that can be used to customize the simulation. One
hour addresses
case studies and examples of using simulation in the field.
Who should attend:
This course is for those engineers, designers and analysts
concerned with
ensuring the proper functioning of GNSS systems (applications
and equipment)
during the manufacturing process. The course is appropriate for
those
concerned with improving the performance capabilities of
existing or planned
systems.

Radio frequency interference (RFI) and jamming are of increasing
concern to
both military and civil users as GPS and GNSS implementations
proceed. This
course addresses these concerns by reviewing and analyzing
interference and
jamming threats and their effects on equipment operation. The
instructors
address a variety of equipment analysis and design techniques
which can be
used to mitigate the effects found in adverse environments. One
half-day
addresses various aspects of GPS integrity and presents an
aviation case
study.

Those concerned with the operation or design of equipments for
use in
jamming or interference conditions, and those concerned with the
protection
of systems from these effects.

About this course:
This course is a highly intensive short course on Kalman
filtering and
Kalman filtering applications. Emphasis in the course is on
practical
applications, but sufficient supporting theory is provided to
give attendees
the necessary tools for meaningful research and development work
in the
field. Considerable time is devoted to modeling, the most
difficult aspect
of Kalman filtering, in an application setting.
There will be a high level of instructor/attendee interaction,
designed to
provide hands-on problem solving and solution discussions. The
learning
experience will also be supplemented by homework assignments to
assist
attendees in improving their understanding of course concepts.
